We are delighted to announce that we will be partnering with The Joshua Tree throughout 2018 to raise awareness and money for a great cause.
The Joshua Tree is a local charity based in the North West which supports families affected by childhood cancer. It is currently supporting around 100 families and that figure grows each week. There is so much great work being done by The Joshua Tree, including:
- Emotional support for the whole family, including 1-to-1 support, play therapy and support groups – including siblings and grandparents;
- Practical support and signposting to sources of information, assistance and advice;
- Family activities and events, half-term activities, a monthly Saturday club;
- Supporting the child and their family in achieving the best academic, social and emotional outcomes, both in and out of the school environment. This includes liaison with schools to ensure that staff receive information on how best to support a child with cancer or leukaemia.
During such a difficult time for any family, it is really important to have someone there for you. The work being done at The Joshua Tree is really needed and the charity continue to deliver their family support services FREE of charge due to their amazing volunteers and donations from the public.
We will be holding regular fundraising events to raise money for such a good cause – keep an eye on our website and social media pages to find out how you can help us support this amazing charity.
